ENTRY

REQUIREMENTS

Saturday 28th September 2019

Craft can be powered or unpowered of any size. Any illumination or illuminated effect is permissible, the more creative and spectacular the better. (See exceptions below)

Craft will rendezvous at Longmead, a riverside house midway on Spade Oak Reach, at 7.00PM for a celebratory drink and lighting up. The house will be illuminated.

Please email your email address to lights@illuminatedparade.com with boat name, mobile number and how many for the Parade dinner at the Bounty from 8:00 pm at £15 per head excluding drinks. Please pay at The Bounty for dinner, suggest you drop in the day before the Parade or on the day before 6:00pm to pay for the dinner to save long queues on the night.

CONDITIONS

An entry charge of £20 per craft will be collected on the night at the Bounty with ALL funds going to the Bounty’s Mama Amelia Charity.
Please find an organiser in the Bounty to make the donation.

All craft must be registered with the Environment Agency.

The regular navigation lights should be switched on and visible at all times from twilight onwards.

All craft must have the correct night time navigation lights for the craft’s size.

Craft must be insured.

Each Skipper is responsible for the safety of their passengers and provision of safety equipment.

Suggest anyone with a VHF radio and operator licence brings it and we will sit on Channel 16.

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Craft must be safe for all aboard and others around them.

High power laser displays are not permitted. We are on the flight path and would need permits for lasers.

Very low power lasers OK but must be vertically facing only. Not into the crowd

Craft must have no sharp edges or spikes.

Illuminations should be soundly constructed.

Any devices should be waterproof in case of rain.

Parade will take place regardless of weather conditions

No rockets or projecting fireworks. Drones welcome if pilots experienced!

No untethered hot air balloons or lanterns (farms with cattle and crops surround the route)

No floating naked flames to be released from any craft

As the craft will raft up at The Bounty please have adequate fenders ready.

 

CONSIDERATIONS

The event is not a formally organised event and taking part must be at the entrants own volition and risk.

All entrants are responsible for their own and guests and passengers welfare.

Rivers and boats pose a potential risk and care should be exercised at all times.

Starting on Spade Oak Reach near Cookham

and proceeds down to the Bounty Pub opposite Bourne End Marina.
